How To Be Perfect

By Farrukh Ahmed • Issue #004

Hey friends,

Sorry to title today’s issue like a clickbait, but hear me out. The point I want to make today is that it is extremely easy for us to fall prey to the illusion of perfection.

There are hundreds of ‘self-help’ programs, books, podcasts, etc out there that promise a ‘better’ you, or improved life.

It’s not that those programs don’t work, rather we tend to get tangled into wanting the perfect solution, and while we wait for that, we forget the age-old adage, “Done, is better than perfect!”

In a relevant example of Time Management strategies that I coach, most people comment that they have tried many methods but haven’t found the ‘perfect’ one that works for them.

The thing is, no system will ever be a perfect fit for everyone. We have to try different methods to see what works for us and make the best combination for us!

However, it all begins with starting somewhere and not waiting for perfection.

The same applies to anything that you want to do, so the best advice I can give you is ‘Just Start!’

And on that note, here’s something new I have started this week! This week, I have started a new YouTube show called “The Pivotal Show”, discussing views, ideas, and perspectives to pivot in life and business as the world is changing rapidly around us following the #Covid-19 Pandemic, with 2 great guys from the startup community. It is a panel discussion format show with the 3 of us being panelists, with 1 special guest every episode.

Here’s the pilot episode of the show. Do check it out and let me know what you think.

My Favourite Things This Week

  1. Audiobook – I have just started listening to Kevin Hart’s book, . Previously I had listened to his book “I Can’t Make This Up”, which I really enjoyed. Kevin Hart is famous for his stand up comedy, but he shares amazing life lessons in this book. I highly recommend listening to these 2 books as they are narrated by Kevin himself, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
  2. Book – Another book that I am reading these days is Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans
